New York City: Maker Faire!!!

"The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination." -Albert  Einstein This is a very meaningful quote and said than none other than the inventor himself Albert Einstein. Hello people of the internet, today I will be talking about an experience I had that is related to engineering. I had a chance this year to go to NYC's Maker Faire and be able to experience almost everything that was presented. I know I am a bit late since the Fair was held on  September 23, but better late than ever. I have been desperate to talk about my experience about this event, but was just swamped with college work. Never mind that though lets get right to it!  When we got off the subway, we started to make our way towards the Faire. In the picture above you are able to see the Arthur Ashe stadium where the U.S Open takes place. You can see some construction going on and the many of the stationed subways.  Accompanying me in this trip is Ronald Grosinger(left) and Kevin

Metal Shop Projects Throughout the year

Hello fellow people of the internet, it has been one crazy year and I would like to just go over what I've done in the Machines & Tools class. I've learned many new things and I was able to put them to good use. 1. What was your favorite project from Mr.G's class this year? In my opinion, my favorite project to do out of the whole school year was making the case for battery controller.

S.T.E.A.M Academy Hovercraft Project

Hello people of the internet, I'm back with another project that I have been working on for the past month. I have been working on a hovercraft for the S.T.E.A.M academy for the past few weeks. This is how it went throughout the month. Q:What was the first step you took in constructing the hovercraft? A: We had done a hovercraft out of cardboard and after seeing what works and what wouldn't, we gathered measurements and started to figure out what we could improve as we moved to steel for the hovercraft.

Making A Case For A Battery Controller (Part 4 of 4)

Hey guys welcome back for the last part of this project. It's been a long time since I started the project, and I am glad I am going to be able to finish it before the school year ends.   After I have polished the piece, I started to mark where I would do my engine turning. I would leave a mark every half an inch for the radius of the circle.  This is how I started off the top portion of the project. By accident, the circle on the left is bigger and shifted a bit different from the second circle.  This is how it looks like with the first row done in the top portion of the project. I started to use a long, narrow, plastic strip to use as a fence for the piece.  This how the project looks when I have finished the second row of the engine turning. The whole thing has started to come more better than I have expected.  This is an action shot of me using the drill in order to engine turn. I am currently working on the fourth row of the engine turning.  This is what the
